Man On A Mountain was started as a passion project by an avid outdoorsman to share his thoughts and feelings about the field of recreation, including reviews of gear, suggestions for trips, discussing controversial issues, and thoughts on education.
Scott Salvesen
The original Man On A Mountain, Scott was born in South Africa and lived there until the age of 14. He currently lives in Florida, USA with his wife, but has lived in Utah, Georgia, and Idaho.
Scott graduated from Utah Valley University's Outdoor Recreation programming, focusing on recreation in a therapy setting. Scott is also currently a Master's student at world-acclaimed University of Florida, where his research interests are in ecotourism, sustainability, and tourist life cycles. He has also done work in the outdoor setting with beekeeping, resort management, and water park manegement, and has a lot of hiking and water activity experience. He is also a published fiction writer and screenwriter.
